Happy Friday!!
Today I did a LOT of laundry, cleaned my house, and prepared to go away camping at the ocean for five rainy days. We'll be in our camper, but still! This will be my last blog update until I return next Thursday.
To cheer myself up about the weather I've come up with a list of positives ONLY ~ no negative thinking here:
Lots of family time
No laundry
No real cooking
Alcohol & goodies
Being lazy
No sunburns + no sunblock application
Another thing I did today was to change my Twitter background to a really neat pattern with apples, and it looks like fabric. Come and check it out!

I hope to update Twitter through my phone while away ~ we'll see how that goes! I can't quite figure out how to tell what your doing online on that tiny screen though. I keep hitting the wrong button and going off-line, so there may be some half-finished messages sent out. That's if I even actually make it to Twitter at all, which is highly likely! Especially if I've had a bit of wine.
Well this is goodbye for now! Leave me some comments so I'll have something nice to read when I come home to dry out (from the rain that is!).

OUCH!
Yesterday I had a little finger-in-the-fan incident. When I say this you probably think that one of my kids stuck their finger in a fan, but if you thought that you were wrong! It was a horrific accident. I was in our camper getting ready for out beach trip which is coming up, and Autumn decides to turn on this little high-powered fan that is hanging up in there. I reached around Autumn to turn it off and my finger went ALL THE WAY in. It felt like my finger was chopped off. Of course I screamed really loud and went running into the house where I put on a bandaid while trying not to look at it. It took me hours to finally look at it, and it's yucky, but not too bad. I'm even typing with it today. So just in case you were wondering ~ no I never made it strawberry picking. First I injure my toe, and now my finger. I told you I was clumsy.
Well we're waking up to another cloudy day with a good chance of rain later. Blahh. With this crummy weather I've been able to do a bit of personal scrapbooking as well as making Father's Day cards, and a card for my husband Keith's birthday. (Luckily I completed these before my finger incident). The two pages below are my latest. I've had some flower stamps for awhile now and haven't really used them, so I thought I'd do so on these layouts for something different. Here they are!
Well I'm off to start my day ~ hopefully with no injuries!

Raisin Brahms
While browsing around online I came across this funny TV commercial created to show parents the value of arts education. I thought I would share this because 1) I am a BIG fan of FUNNY and 2) because I do believe that musical and art education does help with the learning of math and science.
*Before playing please go to the bottom on my blog and pause the music player!
My daughter Taryne plays both the violin and piano and I believe this has helped her in school. Not only that, but she has made friends with some really good kids in her school orchestra. They all have music in common, and this has created a nice bond between them.
Has anyone actually seen this commercial on TV? I haven't, but I wish that I would. There is also another commercial titled "Van Goghurt" (Van Gogh + Yoplait's Gogurt = another funny one).

Hello There!

I'm not one to even read the comics, but this one always makes me laugh!
Right now I am looking out the window at the cloudy, drizzly weather. Taryne has an outdoor field trip today ~ rain-or-shine ~ to Cedardale for swimming, mini-golf, a cookout etc. When she left this morning in her bikini and shorts it was only in the low 50's. It's funny how at her age she dresses for the event first, without really taking into consideration what's going on with the weather. As long as she looks good she's all set. I myself do recall wearing jeans and a jacket in the summer when I was a teen because I thought it looked good. Strange mentallity at that age!
I was hoping to go strawberry picking today but am having a bit of trouble walking as I think I may have broken my toe, or I've at least injured it. Last night I was about to run up the stairs (as I'm always rushing around), and instead of stepping onto the first step I smashed my foot on it and it hurt BAD! This shouldn't come as a surprise to those who know me and my clumsy ways! What will win me over? Taste for strawberries or pain? I'm not sure yet!
Well I hope everyone has a great day. Is there anyone out there who is enjoying nice hot beach weather? If so I'm jealous!

Busy, busy, busy ...
... is what we were over the weekend. The best part of course was Autumn's first dance recital. She truly fits the part of a tiny ballerina, but unfortunately she doesn't want to take dance "ever again". It's a bit disappointing to see your child do something so well, but dislike it. She'd rather be running free outdoors with her shoes off, and I guess I don't blame her!
Anyways here are some photos that I have to share. I was the mother who volunteered to stay backstage with our group of seven girls, and I was able to walk to the stage with them and watch from the side which was definately neat. My Dad, who has a great camera, was able to get a bunch of photos of them on stage which I wasn't expecting, but am so happy to have!
A few of the girls backstage lined up and ready to go!
Singing the "Topsy Turvey Flowers" song!
