Happy 4th of July!

Hi! I'm just going to do a quick post with some cute photos I took this morning.

This first one is of me wearing a sticky note that Autumn gave me on which she wrote I Love U! How sweet is that?!

Then here's a photo of me wearing this crazy headband that Taryne made me buy last July 4th and she has not ever worn it! Since I don't like things to go to waste I'll wear it!

This is the headband that I made for Autumn to wear today ~ just made out of cardstock, but she loves it.

And here's Autumn wearing the silly headband which as you can see has two pinwheels. It's really fun when you run while wearing it as you can see in my little video below!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I'll be sharing more photos later!!

Fabulous Friday!

Happy Friday Everyone!

As promised I am going to share a photo of myself with my new glasses on. I'm sure you've all been waiting to see how nerdy I look right? Well let's bring it on!

Normally I wear contacts, but at night & in the am I wear my glasses. If I wear the glasses into the day Autumn will ask me why I'm still wearing my night glasses. I wore the same glasses for so long they were falling apart. Then I lost them in the camper. So that's the story with that.

Pictured below are two cute cards I made the other night. I cut an oval out of the centers and put the greeting on the inside. They came out pretty nice!

I'll be listing one of them on Etsy today, and the other one on either Etsy or MadeItMyself. If you'd like one of these one-of-a-kind-unique cards now's your chance!!

Tonight I'm looking forward to eating leftover enchiladas I made last night. I found a recipe that is a healthy version and it was YUMMY! A bit spicy though. Tonight I think I'll be adding some margaritas to this meal turning yummy into yummier!

Well that's all I have for now!

Featured Etsy Artist ~ DarlingDaisy of "The Shabby Chic Beach"!!

Good morning! As you may have known I ran a contest where my 100th follower would have their shop featured on my blog. Cristen from DarlingDaisy a.k.a "The Shabby Chic Beach" was the winner, and I am very happy to feature her shop here today!

Cristen made this very easy for me as her shop is beautiful. She creates exactly what her shop name describes ~ shabby chic beachy jewelery, glass charms, frames, signs & more. She even incorporates real shells, driftwood etc. that she personally collected herself on Long Island where she resides with her new husband! (Congrats!)

Cristen is also very generous and dedicates a section of her shop with items that if purchased will help her to raise money for "Shaohannah's Hope Fund", which helps orphaned children around the world.

Here are a few items from her shop which I thought were just beautiful!

Along the Seashore bracelet

Sand Castle stemware or mug charms

Seafoam earrings

Beach Cottage reversible sign

Tossed in the Tide cuff

As the Sun Rises 3 1/2 x 5 photo frame

Take a moment to visit her shop by clicking on this link:

You might just find something unique for yourself, or as a gift for someone special!

Tomorrow I will be sharing a photo of my new glasses as well as photos of two cards which I made and are pretty cool!

Happy Thursday (not as happy as a Friday, but pretty close!)

Wet & Watery Wednesday

Again.

First I want to share a photo of the most beautiful beads that I just purchased yesterday. I'm going to be making a custom bracelet, and this gave me a reason to shop for supplies!

So Pretty!!!

Also I'm sure your all waiting for an update on my use of the word wangin. If you don't know what I'm talking about just look below at my previous posts where it is all described in humorous detail!

So it took me most of the day to be able to seriously use this word with my daughter Taryne. Finally I just came out and said "gosh this weather sure is wangin!" This time her reaction was a bit funnier. She looked at me like I was crazy and asked me what wangin meant. I told her, and said it was in the urban dictionary. She then nicely informed me that kids do not use every word in that dictionary, and nobody uses wangin. Well enough with that! I had my fun.

Moving on, I just listed this 2 page premade scrapbook layout in my Etsy shop. It is titled "Our Vacation" which is perfect for this time of year!

Oh and one exciting piece of news!! After Taryne wore her Betsey Johnson dress I went onto Twitter to see if Betsey was on there. She was, so I became her follower. And the BEST part is that she is following me back! Woohooo! Thank you Betsey!! That made my day!

Well I'm off to do something productive ~ hopefully!
Have a good day.

Mission Complete!

Yesterday I had written that I was going to test out the "word" bronormous on my daughter. (See yesterdays post for details.) During the afternoon we were out doing errands and I kept looking for opportunities to use the word. Well it wasn't easy. We finally stopped at the gas station and a car pulled up beside us with a guy and girl inside. When the guy stepped out he was wearing a tank top and had big arms and tattoos. The perfect opportunity had finally presented itself! So I make a show of looking at this guy and while holding back laughter said to Taryne "that guy certainly thinks he's bronormous". I was expecting her to look at me like I was crazy, but instead she says "oh where?!" Then she takes a look and says "yeah but he's not" and that was it. So she seemed to know what I was saying, and didn't think it was wierd that I used that word.

So I guess I should pick another word from the Urban Dictionary and try again! Today my word will be:

wangin
1.n. To describe heavy rain or bad weather. Mainly used in NW England.

I thought this word would be appropriate since we have only had a sunny day in June here 3 out of 30 days. The only problem I may have is trying to be serious while saying this!

Also, as Moon Spirit Jewelry suggested, I looked up my name in the Urban Dictionary and the first three definitions were as follows:

Paula

1> A beautiful girl with a cute name and has the BEST possible personailty I've ever met.

2> Natural beauty, exotic, very unique

3> a kickass mother who is da bomb and love everyone and everything. but when mad can create some serious damage.

(My personal favorite is number 3!)

One last thing I wanted to share today is the scrapbook page I listed on Etsy last night. I have sold a similar one awhile ago and thought this was such a unique idea that I should make another one. (Of course without sunlight the picture is horrible but soon I hope to fix it!)

Well I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!
Check back in tomorrow to see the latest results of my experiment!

Be Informed!

You probably think that when I say "be informed" I am going to have something profound to report. Well, I don't. I just have some useful information for those of us who have teens, or are around teens.

I noticed that lately there is a lot of terms used by teens, and in the music they listen to, that I don't know the meaning of.

Now for my profound information! I have discovered two websites which help with finding the meaning of these terms.

The first website is http://www.lyrics.com.
On this site you can look up any song to see the lyrics.

The second site is where you can look up all the words and terms that you would like to know the meaning of, but are obviously not in your normal dictionary ~ here comes the Urban Dictionary! http://www.urbandictionary.com.
*Please Note* If you are easily offended DON'T go there!

I looked up the song "Fire Burning" by Sean Kingston.

I wanted to find the correct spelling of "shawty" which is used many times in this song, so that I could then look up the meaning. Thankfully, I now know that this is NOT a term that I want to be using.

I am feeling a bit silly this morning so I've decided that to be funny I am going to use a term from the Urban Dictionary a few times today to see what the reaction is from my daughter Taryne who is 14. The term I have chosen seems to be a simple one ~ "bronormous" which means a very large bro, and appears easy enough for me to remember and use.

This should get a great reaction! I'll report the results later!

On a more serious note I have finally completed a two-page vacation scrapbook layout which I hope to list on Etsy today. I am also almost finished with another page as well, which is a page that gives you a way to include yourself within your scrapbook. I'll be sharing these later.

Happy Monday!
