I ♥ Saturday!

I've finally figured out the secret to creating these online symbols I see everyone using. It's so easy and fun! Here are two I found today that are super cool~

If you don't know how create symbols either all you do is Google "online symbols", and there are plenty of sites to either get the codes for symbols, or to copy and paste more intricate symbols such as the one's I found above.

Now we can WOW all of our friends with our computer savvy!

YAY!

I'm so excited ~ this morning I awoke to my first sale on MadeItMyself!! Awhile ago I had decided that I was going to open an MIM shop and compare the results to my Etsy shop. Well there has been nothing much to report until now. Actually I would say that the results of this experiment were inconclusive. My listings on MIM received many views quicker than on Etsy, but I've had 12 sales on Etsy and now one on MIM. So I guess I will just continue on with both shops and see if things how things go.

Yesterday I thought it would be cute to take a photo of Autumn and myself next to our mailbox so that you could see both of us as well as our name. I bet nobody else has a photo like this right? If you do let me know or post it here in the comments because I'd like to see! Silly I know, but that's me.

Yesterday I also completed a personal scrapbook layout titled "Autumn's Garden". Last summer Keith helped Autumn start a mini garden with seeds which they then transplanted outside. Autumn took care of them and was ecstatic when things began to grow. She had peas, tomatoes, carrots and one lonely pumpkin which was ready in the middle of August.

Tonight we are going to visit Zachary at camp which is where he's been all summer long, except for a day here and there. I can't wait till he's back home again and everything returns to normal.

Well that's all I've got for today! Have a good day everyone!

Terrific Tuesday!

Good Morning!

As the summer slowly comes to an end (or I should say as the start of the new school year gets closer) I look forward to having a bit more time to work on updates for my Etsy shop as well as my personal pages. Lately I just haven't had as much time as I need to complete all I want to do.

So in celebration (WOOHOO!) of the upcoming school year I am relisting this super cool premade scrapbook page in my Etsy shop. It is perfect for comparing two photos of your child ~ one photo taken on the first day of school, and one taken on the last day of school. I have done this for my own kids and it's amazing to see how they change in just one school year. When you place these photos side-by-side you may be surprised! There is even a fill-in-the-blank section to show a bit of their thoughts at this "moment in time". This layout would be great for school years in the past, as well as the upcoming school year.

Another great idea I've come upon recently is that scrapbook pages can be framed to display in your home rather than in an album. There are 12x12 frames which you can purchase, and then you just add your photos and you then have a nice piece of art to display! I've recently sold two scrapbook pages just for the purpose.

Today I am actually finishing up a personal layout of Autumn and the little garden she grew last summer. Tomorrow I will share some photos ~ it's really cute!

Have a great day!

Monday Already?

Well the concert on Friday night was completely different than I expected. We went mostly to see RATT, although Extreme was playing as well. I was never much into Extreme which was why I didn't even mention that they were playing. Well, I now have to say that Extreme ROCKED, and RATT did NOT. Extreme was SO good, whereas RATT's songs were almost unrecognizable. RATT sounded like a jumble of music with singing which didn't quite coordinate. The song you are listening to now was one of Extreme's most popular songs which is even better live. And Nuno Bettencourt shown in the photo below is better live as well!

Well on to business now! Yesterday I completed a custom premade scrapbook page with a Boy Scout theme. It turned out completely different than I envisioned it when I started out, which actually happens a lot with my layouts. Here's a peek at it before I ship it out! (The photo is just a sample which is actually my husband when he was small ~ cute huh?)

Well I'm off to begin my most dreaded errand of the week ~ grocery shopping. From making the list, to putting away the food, to listening to everyone complain about what I did or did not buy ~ I dislike it all! Ok I got that out!
