Purple Passion

What does one do when their bored with their hair? I'm not really sure, but I have a small hair obsession, and am always tweaking the cut a bit and trying different things out. Well my hair is already short enough, so this time cutting it was out of the question. So I did the next best thing ~ I added a bold pop of color!

If you are a regular reader of my blog you know how much I love color. And with my hair being dark, I decided adding some purple streaks would really add some pizazz!

The color turned out more of a hot pink, but I love it. It really stands out, especially when I'm in the sun.

Not sure how long I will keep it this way, but this will hold off any boredom. For a little while at least!

Next week will be a busy week as it is school vacation week for the kids. We don't have any big plans. Just a few fun things here and there. If I come up with any good activities or craft projects I'll be sure to share them here.

Hope you all have a great weekend :)

Fabulous Friday Finds . . .

... A Touch of Spring :)

When I began planning this post the weather here was spring-like ~ in the 50's and the chickadee's were chirping.  Now today as I finish up writing, the weather has turned back to wintery.  There are little snowflakes drifting down from the sky, and the chickadee's are silent.  But this doesn't mean that we can't dream of warm breezes, chirping birds, and flowers!

So I'm now introducing my Fabulous Friday Finds post titled "A Touch of Spring".  I've included vintage pieces, photography shots, as well as a few handmade items. The color scheme of pinks, greens, yellows, and blues, along with pretty flowers, are sure to give you a bit of spring fever.

Color =

bright, happy spaces :)

Between blogging, crafting, and family stuff (which takes about 99% of my time!) Pinterest has become another obsession to add to my growing list.

I don't have all that much pinned yet. I feel that I must not just LIKE something to pin it, but I must to LOVE it. I have to look at the object/space/etc. and say "WOW!".

As I glanced through my pins this morning, I realized that up until now I've never been quite sure what my decorating style is. Pinterest has helped me see that I like bright colors against white or other lighter colors, with a whimsical feel.  Each space I've pinned has made me say "wow I LOVE this ~ how could I incorporate this into my home?!".

Here's a sample of my most favorite spaces I've pinned ~

And of course I had to throw just a little bit of pink in there!

Have a great day! And check back tomorrow if you like my "Friday Finds" post! I have another good one in the works :)

my crafty friend

Yesterday Autumn's little dragon sat with me while I was crafting away working on a pair of owl softies. It's cute to see something so small be interested in what is going on around it. I love how he's looking directly at the camera :)

sugar fix anyone?

This post is for all you sugar-cereal junkies! I admit that here and there I go through a phase when all I want to eat for breakfast is the most colorful and sugary cereals manufactured. One of my favorites has to be Lucky Charms.  It may quickly cross my mind how unhealthy this is, but a little won't hurt you, right?

This morning the last subject I would have thought I'd be blogging about was the pro-side of sugary cereals, but things change quickly. For me this happened as soon as I stumbled across an online store that ......GET THIS!!!.... sells ONLY cereal marshmallows!

This is both strange and crazy, but the owner of this website, Nathan Wratislaw, actually started this as a "pet project" because he was tired of running out of marshmallows, and being left with only cereal in the box. This pet project has proved so successful that pretty soon these may be available at a retailer near you.

If you can't wait for these to hit stores, just visit Nathan's website to purchase them now ~ cerealmarshmallows.com. !  The smallest amount available for purchase are two 7oz. bags for $7.99, and the largest amount would be 95 lbs. in bulk for $399.99.

The question is, would you buy these???

Happy Day!

Monday, Monday ~ La laa lalalaa!

Today is the beginning of a brand new week, and I have many things planned. Some of these things are fun {working on a few custom orders, brainstorming new project ideas, and shopping for supplies}, and some are just those everyday things which need to get done {grocery shopping, dentist and hair appointments, laundry and other everyday Mommy stuff}.

Normally on the weekends I like to switch gears and work on things which I don't have time for during the week. This past weekend I decided that with the new Facebook timeline coming out, I wanted to create something unique for my page.

As most of you probably already know the new profile pages include a "cover picture", which is a larger image of your choice displayed across the top. The problem is that the image display size isn't your normal photo size, or even a square. It was difficult for me to find a photo that would fit nicely into this space.

My solution for this was to create a digital image which would fit perfectly in this spot, and really personalize my profile page. Using Photoshop Elements I created a really cute banner-style image.

This is so much better than a large photo of me!

Now I'm off to visit Create With Joy's Inspire Me Monday Blog Hop!   This blog series was started because Monday's "often get the short end of the stick, but they are fraught with potential".
This is a wonderful "place to share your creative inspirations, sharpen your creative vision, and showcase your creative talents!".  It's so much fun to share what is inspiring me, and to see what others are sharing.

Happy Monday :)
