Happy Saturday Friends! 

 The cool and rainy days have moved on, and this past week was hot, Hot, HOT!!! Beach weather has finally arrived, and we took advantage of it two days last week. I just wanted to share a quick 16 second vid I made while watching Autumn running around oceanside. 

Previously she was always cautious about the waves, but this year she was all about riding the waves on her boogie board. And the crabs, there were many, many of them hiding under nearby rocks, and tons of kids were searching for them. Autumn ended up being a hit with all the boys and girls who were afraid to pick any up. She would roll her eyes and say "I'll do it for you", and she did. 

This coming Wordless Wednesday my photo will be of Autumn and some of the 

MANY dozens of crabs she collected.

Thursday Favorite Things ...

Happy Day All! I'm excited to announce that today I am the co-host for one of my most favorite weekly blog hops around!  It is called "Thursday Favorite Things", and is run by Katherine from Katherine's Corner. I was fortunate to come across her lovely blog one day, and have met many new friend's through her.

My Good Luck Charm ...

My girl absolutely LOVES fishing. 

 Although we live right by a lake, we don't go as often as we should.  

Yesterday afternoon Autumn and I were home alone, and she asked me if I would 

take her fishing. Immediately I had a flashback moment of when my son was her age,

 and he asked me to take him fishing. 

 He had insisted he knew just what to do with the worms and the fish, so I agreed to take him.  He dug up a few worms, got his pole, and when he did catch a fish, he didn't know what to do. Surprise! We then had to ask someone to help us, which was a bit embarrassing.

So when Autumn told me things I knew I had learned my lesson long ago, and told her she had to wait for her father to take her.  But after hours of her asking over and over, and then actually telling me how you unhook the fish etc., it did appear maybe she was serious.

She told me she wasn't going to use worms, but bread as bait.  So off we went.  And I have to give this girl credit, because she knew exactly what she was doing.  Within the first five minutes she caught a fish, reeled it in, unhooked it and said 

"See, I told you I knew what I was doing!".

Over the next hour she caught a total of six fish, and was so happy with herself.  Now she can add fishing to her summer to-do list, and next time I will say yes right away :)
