Unexpected Announcement

Hello all! I know you came here for the party, and I had no intention of not hosting this week, but here I am sitting at my computer wondering if I should be taking a break.

If you were a follower before my blog party started you would know that I used to post regularly. Recipes, handmade things and my kids were my favorite topics. Then a few years ago I decided to take an unannounced break. Everyone wondered where I went, for a good reason, but I couldn't bring myself to open my blog and explain my absence.

Then one day I decided I was ready to begin blogging again. The only problem was I was in a totally different place in life and things weren't the same. I haven't had the time or energy to plan regular posts, and my blog party became the only thing keeping me going. The amazing thing about the blog party was that it turned into a big party! With many participants!

I tried to let everyone who participated in my parties that I really appreciated them taking the time to stop by. Especially since I didn't really have much else to share. I've enjoyed all your wonderful comments, and for the follows on various social media channels. What I didn't like was that there were sooooo many wonderful posts shared, and I didn't have the time to visit each one and to comment that I appreciated them linking up.

So this is where I am right now. I'm really not sure how long this break will be. If and when I do return, I feel that I may start an entirely new blog. It would be nice to have a fresh start, but only time will tell...

Best wishes to you all :)

  1. Paula, I totally relate and sometimes you have to take a break and reevaluate your purpose and your goals. I feel the same way about my link ups. So many fabulous bloggers join and I can never find the time to visit all of them and comment. But we are all just human and we do what we can. We all know that you appreciate us even if you can't stop by and comment! In any event, thanks so much for hosting this fun party for so long. Enjoy your break and I do hope to see you return to blogging again. When you are good and ready!

    Hugs to you, my friend.

  2. I really enjoyed being a part of your link up party Paula. You will be missed but I understand that you have to do what is right for you. When and if you do decide to come back, I'll be there to support you like you have done for so many of us. Yes it was hard to comment and visit each and individual blogs, I struggle with this too but you have created a space for us to share and be a community. So, thank you and best wishes.

  3. I feel you doll. I've reinvented myself a million times and taken a million and a half breaks. If blogging is where your heart is, you'll be back and with a vengeance. Life is an interesting game. Much love to you.

  4. Thank you for providing this Link Party, Paula. While I've only been linking up for a few months, I've really come to look forward to your party each weekend. Enjoy your break, do what you need to do! Taking care of you is the most important thing.

  5. Take as long as you need, Paula! It's been a blessing meeting new friends in this space, but good for you for realizing that you're in a different place in life now and need to reassess! May you be richly blessed as you pursue the Lord into this next season. May you sense his pleasure with your obedience. May you be filled with the richest kind of joy! Blessings!

  6. I'm going to miss this Thursday party, but I completely understand the need for you to step back and reassess. I took a week off in April, and even that short break felt great and gave me a chance to catch my breath and return with new energy.
    Blessings to you!

  7. Taking care of you is most important and taking a break from blogging can be refreshing. Enjoy your break and I hope you'll be back soon! btw...not all hosts comment on every link, so don't beat yourself up on that one. ;)

  8. Thanks for hosting this link party. It is one of my favorites. As a new blogger, I really enjoyed being able to share my stories through your site. I sometimes feel I need a break too. I work full time, blog on the side, take care of my mother with Alzheimers. But you need to take care of yourself first. That's the most important thing you can do. Good luck.

  9. Thanks for all the time you've put into this and enjoy your break! There's a lot to be said for focusing on living life without an eye to documenting it - I hope this time is fruitful and meaningful for you. :)

  13. Aaaw so sad to see you leaving, but you are right. If this doesn't give you the right energy anymore you'd better focus on something else. I will miss you and your fun parties, and of course I hope you return one day. Take care! All the best from The Netherlands, Annemarie

  16. It is hard finding a balance to life, I feel like I am always tipping too far one way and then the other. I think it is awesome that you recognize that a change needs to happen before the breaking point! Blog hops are fun ways to connect, but they can also easily get overwhelming. Thankfully, there is a whole community here to back you up! Good luck with all your endeavors and I hope to read your posts once again!
